At Gridflight, we believe in the power of inclusive training to transform lives. For this reason, we are proud to share our collaboration with the Lucas18 Foundation, an organization that supports federated athletes with diverse abilities, providing them with tools to grow both in the sports and personal spheres. Together, we created a unique experience: a Drone Pilot course with the A1/A3 certification, which culminated in the success of all our athletes.
This course not only offered the opportunity to learn how to pilot drones in a professional manner, but it also allowed each participant to obtain an official certification, a significant achievement that opens new doors in the world of work.
A Professional Course for Everyone: How A1/A3 Changes the Future
The A1/A3 certification that our students obtained in this course are essential for operating drones for commercial purposes in Spain. These titles are required by the EASA (Spanish Aviation Safety Agency) and allow pilots to fly in different scenarios, from recreational operations to professional work such as photogrammetry, precision agriculture or infrastructure inspection.
The course offered 100% online training. From learning to operate drones in controlled situations to making key decisions during the flight, the athletes were trained in all the fundamental aspects of drone piloting. The most notable thing was that all the students passed successfully, demonstrating their effort and dedication.
More than a course: Inclusion in action
This project was more than just technical training; it was a true testament to inclusion in action. The athletes of the Lucas18 Foundation not only acquired new skills, but they also faced challenges that, through training, they were able to successfully overcome. Thanks to the collaboration between Gridflight and the Lucas18 Foundation, these athletes were able to access high-quality training, adapted to their needs and with an inclusive approach that allowed them to shine.
Beyond certification, the true value of this course lies in the positive impact it had on participants. It offered them new opportunities for the future and helped them gain confidence both in their abilities and in their professional environment. Technology has no barriers, and this course demonstrated this by providing concrete tools so that everyone could advance their personal and professional path.
The Documentary: A Story of Overcoming
To capture the spirit of this collaboration, we decided to record a documentary that shows the process from the beginning to the end of the course. In this video, participants tell first-hand how they experienced this experience and how drone training has changed their perspective on the future.
In addition, the documentary features the participation of our CEO, Jose Manuel Ruiz, who talks about the importance of projects like this and how Gridflight is committed to inclusion in all its programs. Our instructor, David Barreto, also shares his experience teaching students with different needs, stressing the importance of adapting teaching and creating an environment accessible to all.

A Step Into the Future: More Opportunities for All
This collaboration was just the beginning of a journey towards more inclusive projects that will continue to provide training opportunities to all people, regardless of their background or circumstances.
At Gridflight, we are convinced that drone training is a powerful tool to promote people's future, and especially for those who, like the athletes of the Lucas18 Foundation, face additional challenges in their daily lives.
We are deeply grateful to the Lucas18 Foundation for allowing us to be part of this special project, and we are thrilled with everything we have learned in the process. Inclusion and technology are a powerful combination, and this course has been proof of that.
