Advanced Technology for a Global Challenge
The project addresses a global problem that affects 20% of the planet's surface and represents a serious risk to food security. We designed and manufactured an advanced dron model capable of flying for more than 90 minutes and covering up to 80 km in a single flight, ensuring effective monitoring in remote and challenging regions.
Equipped with high-definition mono spectral and RGB cameras, these drones capture and process information in real time. The integration of artificial intelligence improves the accuracy and effectiveness of detection, optimizing response times and facilitating preventive control strategies.
Strengthening local capacities
To ensure the success of the project, we trained 10 local officers responsible for carrying out air operations. This training allows local teams to carry out inspections and preventive controls autonomously, ensuring the long-term sustainability of the program.
Key Benefits of the Project
- Early detection: Timely identification of locust infestations, improving control and prevention strategies.
- Optimization of resources: Reduction of costs and time through more efficient monitoring in remote areas.
- Operational autonomy: Strengthening local capacities to ensure program continuity.
Impact on vulnerable regions
Thanks to this technological solution, locust infestations has been detected early, avoiding agricultural devastation in Somalia, Ethiopia and Sudan. This project not only protects food security in vulnerable regions, but it also demonstrates how technological innovation can make a significant difference in managing global challenges.
